The aim of the ‘Lesson:AI’ project is to enhance the digital skills of 11,000 teachers from across Poland in the use of AI technology. The project involves training programmes designed to increase their knowledge of how to understand and utilise this technology, as well as to enable them to better understand the ethical and social issues associated with the use of AI.

The training sessions are organised at three levels of proficiency:
- At the basic level, teachers will expand their knowledge of the fundamental mechanisms of AI and its applications in everyday life, work and education; they will also acquire the skills to use it to create educational materials and gain an understanding of the social and ethical challenges associated with AI, including identifying risks and promoting a responsible approach.
- At the intermediate level, teachers will additionally learn to evaluate the performance of simple AI models and to use no-code tools such as Orange Data Mining and Teachable Machine (for data analysis, image recognition and natural language processing).
- In the advanced-level training, teachers will enhance their skills in creating and utilising advanced AI techniques in education, with a particular focus on Python programming for AI, machine learning, and the training and optimisation of their own AI-based models.
At both the intermediate and advanced levels, each participant will prepare a lesson plan on a topic of their choice relating to AI, design a simple educational project using AI (from identifying the problem to planning the solution), and prepare a description of it.
The project is being implemented by a partnership comprising: the Orange Foundation (Leader), Information Society Development Foundation oraz No Input Signal.
KEY DATA:
- Budget: PLN 11,040,819.90 (including PLN 2,964,499.96 from the FRSI budget)
- Funding: The project is being implemented with the support of European funds #EUFunds under the European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027 programme.

- Scope: nationwide
KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Preparing training programmes and educational materials for teachers (at three levels of proficiency) and updating them annually; the content of the training programmes and educational materials is based on Intel’s ‘AI for Youth’ programme.
- Training of trainers – a two-stage programme: on AI (organised by Intel) and a workshop on adult education methodology.
- Recruitment of teachers – recruitment is ongoing from August 2025. Teachers from primary schools (including early years education) and secondary schools, including vocational and technical schools, are eligible to take part in the training. There is no limit on the number of participants from any given school.
- Organisation of training for teachers – at the basic level, the training will be delivered online and will last 25 teaching hours; at the intermediate level – in a blended format (6 hours face-to-face, 34 hours online); at the advanced level – also in a hybrid format (12 hours face-to-face, 38 hours online); face-to-face training sessions take place in provincial capitals.
- Evaluation of the effectiveness and quality of the training delivered.
- Networking among project participants to exchange knowledge, experiences and good practices (networking meetings)..
The role of the Information Society Development Foundation in the ‘Lesson:AI’ project is to prepare and update training scenarios at basic and intermediate levels, together with educational materials; to produce model training recordings; and to provide methodological support to trainers at the aforementioned levels (including organising a workshop on adult education methodology and conducting trainer supervision) , preparing and delivering basic-level training for approximately 3,125 teachers (approximately 157 groups), and preparing and delivering intermediate-level training for approximately 880 teachers (approximately 44 groups).
