As part of this programme, we are running training sessions on artificial intelligence for 140 public library staff members from across Poland. The project is being carried out as part of the Google.org AI Opportunity Fund programme.
Librarians taking part in the training will gain practical skills in using artificial intelligence tools in their day-to-day library work. They will develop their digital, information and media literacy, learn to harness the potential of AI and introduce innovative services in their libraries. They will also gain the knowledge and skills to become trusted guides to the world of artificial intelligence for residents of their local communities, as well as for educators and representatives of community organisations who make use of library services.
Comprehensive support, comprising a specialist educational package prepared by Google and its partners, as well as funding for the delivery of the training, will be provided to the Information Society Development Foundation (ISDF) by the Centre for Public Impact – the operator of the Google.org AI Opportunity Fund programme. The training will be tailored to the needs and specific characteristics of public libraries. ISDF is one of the organisations selected to participate in the programme.
